My first book example is Crown an Ode to the Fresh Cut, I see myself reflected in this book because after a haircut I feel like a new and refreshed person ready to take on the world. It has been a mirror for me to see myself, and to know that others feel the same way after their haircuts.
Barnes, Derrick D., and Gordon C. James. Crown: an Ode to the Fresh Cut. Bolden, an Agate Imprint, 2017. I didn't see myself in this book, but rather it served as a window for me into the life of someone who is selfless, and a panda. The book had me question if my being selfish was worth it as he panda gave away everything he owned to help others who needed it more, and I ultimately feel that someone doesn't deserve something they didn't earn. Muth, Jon J. Zen Shorts. Grolier International Inc., 2015. This book served as a mirror for me as, I tend to be quite rambunctious when others are trying to be serious just as tacky does. It showed that being a little crazy and wild can be helpful at times and lighten the mood. Like when Tacky got the hunters to leave by being crazy to the point the hunters were uncomfortable Lester, Helen. Tacky the Penguin. Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority Resource Centre for the Visually Impaired, 2010.
